Sleek: making me go Eau La La

Sleek have recently launched their new set of smudge proof, multi-purpose liners under the name of 'Eau La La' and as soon as I heard about them from Holly aka HollyYMBB (The Yummy Mummy Beauty Blog) I went down to Superdrugs to cast my eyes on them. There are 20 shades to choose from and are perfect to use on the eyes, brows, lips and even on the body. 

Shade's Available:

Venom, Moulin Rouge, Cobalt Blue, Sand Dune, Dragon Fruit, 

Raisin, Blue Moon, Cocoa, Melba, Nut Cracker, 

Canary Yellow, White Noise, Tonic, Bullion, Red Sky Night,

Molasses, Pumpkin, Satchel, Noir, Lingerie.  

The shade which most appealed to me was 'Lingerie' and I have been using it as an lip liner as well as an all over colour on the lips. I find it to be a very pretty, romantic and subtle shade and is one of those colour's that is 'your lips but (a lot) better'. I think I will find myself wearing this shade to work as the formulation is really, really soft as well as being waterproof so it means that I'm not having to reapply as much as I would do with a lipstick - these liners would also be really good for a night out because there so long lasting ! 

Realistically I wouldn't wear most the colour's in this collection as I don't really wear shadow or colour on my eyes anyway but if your someone who likes to experiment with colour or someone who is starting out in make-up these liners would be a great thing to have in your kit/collection because there so versatile ... you could be so creative with them. 

As always Sleek have delivered on choice, great pigmentation and at £3.99 your getting your money's worth as you can use this product for a multitude of things. The packaging is lovely a chic' and I highly recommend these liners... there amazing!!! Let me know what you think if you do try them and always please comment and follow. x

Sleek: Your Making Me Blush

Admittedly I don't really look at Sleek products when purchasing make-up, to say the very least I have one blusher from Sleek which I have to say is amazingly pigmented and brilliant value for money. When I heard about the limited addition blush palettes Sleek has released I ran out to Superdrug's to take a good look.

'Blushes by 3' come in a choice of 5 palettes, so there's something for everyone!

My eyes were immediately drawn to the 'Sugar' palette as I felt all the colour's in this palette would suit my skin tone the best. This palette consist of three shades, two of which are matte and the third being a shimmer blush. 

At £9.99 for 20g worth of the product, I think this is (as David Dickinson would say)a REAL DEAL considering an individual Sleek Blush retail's at £4.30. 

I love anything that comes in palettes or sets as there ideal for travel - and this palette will definitely be going in my make-up bag when I next go on my travels.

Demerara:This matt shaded blush is a warm brick colour. Used in the right way you can give your cheeks that 'just been out in the cold' look. 

Muscovado:I'm not a big fan of ANYTHING shimmery but when worn this blush gives you that 'glowing from within' look. The shimmer is very fine & you hardly notice it on the cheeks. This colour would also work really well as an eye shadow. 

Turbinado: A warm matt orange shade. Use with a light hand other wise you might look like an ommpa loompa.

These blushes are super pigmented so you only need the tiniest amount and they can be layered to achieve your required intensity. I sometimes wear the alone or mix the shades to create a completely new colour. 

I'm so glad that I got hold of this palette, I highly, highly recommend everyone to check out their local Superdrug's. From what I could see they were flying of the shelves so go get yours quick!

Beauty Cupboard Favourite: Bio Oil

This is something everyone should have - its definitely a store cupboard favourite (even if you don't use it all the time)! 

Bio Oil is a specialist skin care oil which is designed to improve the appearance of scaring, stretch mark's and also claims to help even skin tone out. I always wondered if this was one of those over hyped products that everyone went on about, but it really does work. 

It has really helped to gradually make the scaring on my face disappear and has kept my face looking more healthy and radiant. Most people use a night cream, however for me Bio Oil is my Night time treatment - I put it on before I go to bed, concentrating it on any problem areas as well as using it to condition my eyelashes and in the morning my face feels much softer, hydrated and brighter looking. 

You do need to use it on a regularly basis to see a notable  difference but I have noticed that it's evened out my skin tone slightly and that it makes my make-up go on a lot better when applying it in the Mornings. 

Bio Oil can be purchased in both Superdrugs and Boots. Some people may think that Bio Oil is a little bit pricey but I definitely think its worth the price, you only need a tiny drop and it lasts for ages. Now thats what I call a good product!

Clean and Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash Oil Free

I went through a phase where I would wash my face with a bar of soap and a pair of exfoliating gloves - at the time I thought this was the best way to keep my face clean and free from breakouts but I was so wrong! Scrubbing my face made it more prone to breakouts, it would dry my face out like anything and it would leave my skin sore and irritated. One day I just chucked my exfoliating gloves in the bin and decided I needed to make changes to my skin care. Admittedly I still use soap on my face to initially clean my face but I have completely change what else I use on my face.

St Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub is something I used to use before but I found the particles of apricot were too big and harsh for everyday use and its something I would consider using once a week as a deep cleanse.

For every day I have been using the Clean and Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash (Oil free) and its a product that I have repurchased several times since initially buying it. If I am being honest ( I say that a lot...i've noticed) I only purchased it because it was cheap as chips but it turns out that its actually a really, very impressive product.

Claims to: 

Gently clean skin and unblock pores.

How I use it: 

I take a pea size amount and rub between my fingers with a bit of water and this is enough for my whole face and neck. 

My Thoughts:

The consistency of the daily wash is quite runny, however the particles of the exfoliating beads are really small (almost like crushed rice) so they really lift the dirt and excess oil of my face. My face always feels fresh and more awake when I use this product and the great thing is, you only need a small amount - I find a 150ml tube lasts between one and a half to two months and the big plus is the price. Clean and Clear's Exfoliating Daily Wash is available at Superdrug at an impressive £1.85 so its hardly breaking the bank!

My skin has dramatically improved since using the daily wash, it has never being bad but I would occasionally get a breakout out of the blue and I think this was because the exfoliating gloves were too harsh on my skin however since using Clean and Clear's daily wash my skin is much more soft and subtle and just feels and looks a lot better. 

Maybelline - Volum' Express the Colossal Cat Eyes

Having tried Great Lash and being disappointed, I wasn't expecting much from Maybelline's the Colossal Cat Eyes mascara yet I think this maybe one of my favourite mascara's to date.  

It's reasonably priced at £7.99 and is widely available in Boots and Superdrug across the country. If your lucky you can always find a good deal in your local Asda or Tesco which is always a plus. My eyelashes are naturally quite long but fair in colour so I always like to use mascara to enhance the look of my eyes. 


The packaging is not the greatest but when the product is good you really can't complain. The wand is small and slightly curved which allows you to get right to the roots making it easy to separate the lashes including those tiny ones that are usually hard to get to as well catching the outer lashes to create that 'cat eye' look - if you smudge a bit of kohl liner in the upper lash line you can also create a really quick and easy smokey eye.

 

Although this mascara is not highly pigmented after a second coat you can get a reasonable intensity, the formula is quite wet which I prefer however it's not messy at all like some mascaras.

If your looking for a thickening or volumising mascara this is probably not for you. Maybelline's Cat Eyes is more a lengthening mascara - it really makes you look awake and gives you long, flirty looking lashes. I highly recommend this mascara to everyone in particular to those who have short lashes. Hope this has been helpful x
