Mission Foundation ... Complete?

For months & months (as some followers may know) I have been struggling to find a foundation that I'm completely satisfied with. I know there's no such thing as perfect but I wanted to find the closet to! I was toying with the idea of purchasing Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua for a long time but in the end I decided to go for the new Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation by YSL ...AND so far I've not been disappointed.

I've only had this foundation for a while but frankly I think YSL blow Chanel out of the water in the battle of the foundations... For £28 whole English Pound's YSL's long awaited Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation offers an incredible 22 shades, accommodating for most skin tones. The packaging is beautiful with its slimline glass bottle and gold cap that homes a nifty pump for easy distribution, the pump also unscrews open too so you really can use every last drop of product.
Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua however has a poor; 9 shade range which is NOT good for us girls of colour and even less impressive at £32. Although the packaging is compact it doesn't feel as nice as the YSL foundation with its plastic exterior.

In terms of performance I cannot make the comparison between the two foundations but if you are considering purchasing either the YSL or Chanel foundation hopefully this post will help you in deciding what one to go for in terms of price, shade range etc. Out of interest if anyone has tried the Vitalumiere AquaLe Teint Touche Eclat OR both please let me know what you thoughts are ? x

  1. I'm going to break the trend and say I'm not the biggest fan of the Chanel. I bought it on recommendations and it's a good colour but really dries my skin out. When it runs out I'm tempted to try the YSL now!

    1. So far the YSL is a winner. It settles on the skin nicely and it drys nice, gives an even amount of coverage and although its not a long lasting foundation it gives you a nice natural finish. x

  2. Ive just tried Illamasqua, so far its winning my foundation battle. Most brands dont accommodate for really white skin tones either! Ive found one now that is really good so far, maybe try there? The ranges are pretty wide scale so you would probs find a nice shade? xox
