My First Glossy Box

The rise of the 'beauty subscription' box has made quite an impact on the beauty community. I have watched from afar but have never joined the bandwagon despite being really intrigued. After seeing and reading reviews on different brands of 'beauty subscription' boxes, I've come to the understanding that its a bit of a gamble as to what your receive. Sometimes you will get really fantastic products and other times the products are frankly rubbish.
When Glossy Box were offering customers a chance to purchase a one-off beauty box without setting up a monthly subscription I thought it was the perfect opportunity to have a try.I won't go too much into packaging because by now I'm sure you will have seen what a Glossy Box looks like.
In the box:
- Collin Resultime: Regenerating Collagen Gel.
- Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger: Texturizing Sea Spray.
- Monu: Extra Rich Night Cream.
- Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics: Lip Frosting.
- Kryolan: Satin Powder Eyeshadow.

I was secretly hoping that I would receive the HD Brow Kit, but unfortunately I was disappointed with what was in my particular box. I think I'll make do with the products but they don't thrill me, nothing to write home about but I guess thats part and parcel of such concepts. What does everyone else think of beauty boxes?x

Wanna Try The New Lancome Mascara?

Like every girl I love, love, love mascara. So when I saw that Tatler Magazine were giving away sample size's of the new Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara I immediately snapped up a copy !

I don't like to spend a great deal on mascara's as generally you can only really get 3 months worth of use and I feel that you can get just as good from drugstore brands. When I see magazines giving away sample's of high end mascara's I always take the opportunity to try them to see if there really worth the hefty price tags.
Lancome Claim:
The new Hypnose Star Mascara is designed with a dual-sided wand to give you bags of volume and curl - the flat side of the wand is designed to hold more product whilst the round side allows you to get right to the roots of your lashes to give curl. It also has a'black diamond' (whatever that is ? ) effect to give your eyes a spectacular look.

The Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara retails at £21.00 and is available in most Department Stores, as well as online and in selected Boots. If you were thinking of purchasing this mascara why not get a copy of Tatler Magazine first and see if its really worth the money ?

Just wanted to give you girl's the heads up ! So let me know if you manage to get a copy of the magazine and what you thought of the mascara. Hope everyone had a lovely day. x

Revlon: Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

So yet again Revlon have got bloggers and youtuber's excited about their latest lip product, the 'Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains', a drugstore alternative to Clinique's famous 'Cubby Sticks Lip Balm'

The packaging is so similar to Clinique's Chubby Stick's that I think Revlon have been slightly cheekey in their design. However the 'Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain's' do feel very luxurious at practically half the price at £7.99.
(currently on offer at £5.99 in Boots)
Although this range consists of 12 versatile shades, here in the UK we only have 7 shades to choose from - which is still not bad!
I was very reluctant about Revlon's 'Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain's' because I really didn't get on well with their lip butters however I am pleasantly surprised and much prefer these. Let's talk about the scent first! I must be the only person that doesn't like the artificial minty scent. Everyone else, that has spoken about the balm stains loves the scent but its just not for me, however I'm not one to judge a product just on the scent.

Colour's Available In the UK:
Honey, Crush, Darling, Cherish, Lovesick, RendezvousRomantic
The colour I chose was 040 Rendezvous which is a very tropical orange shade. I love wearing a pink lip so for a change I chose this shade. The staying power is AMAZING ! Initially the balm gives you a very sheer wash of colour, however you can really build up the intensity taking this product from day to night. More so having worn the balm whilst eating and drinking your still left with a vibrant but non-offensive stain of colour on the lips - almost like you get after eating a popsicle.

To really put this product to the test I wore the balm all day and even wore it to bed.I was really impressed that when I woke up the colour was still intact and as bright as when I first put it on. The balm doesn't leave your lips dry like most staining products do and does the opposite by really moisturising and hydrating the lips.

I'm not too sure of the colour I chose, I think it makes me look a bit washed out and doesn't suit my skin tone as much as the usual colour's I wear so I think I'm going to be looking at the more brighter pinkier shades.

Although I think Revlon's 'Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain's'  are still quite pricey for drugstore make-up products I definitely think there worth the price. They deliver on colour payoff, lasting power, they give you a nice stain and keep your lips moisturised all day long. You can just chuck in your bag however I do think you need a mirror for appliction for the brighter shades. What does everyone else think of the
balm stains? x

Empties 4 #

I know, I know I've really been slacking with the blogging but I just feel like I never have enough time (poor excuse). However now I have a bit of time I'm bringing you another Empties post.

nspa Coconut ice-cream Shower & Bath Gel:
I love anything that has a coconut scent so when I saw this shower and bath gel by nspa, from Asda I snapped it up for my travels. There's not much you can say about bath products is there... but I will definitely be having a look at the other products within nspa's bath range as I know there all based on desserts. Good enough to eat ... (but NOT advised).

Vaseline Original Petroleam Jelly:
Vaseline is a store cupboard favorite of mine. I particular like to apply it all over my face before I go to bed and when I wake up in the mornings, my face is a lot more smoother and softer. If you like, its sort of a night time treatment for me as a traditional night cream would be to some people.
No7 Perfect Lips Pencil - 10 Blush:
I like using lip liner from time to time as I find they wear really well as an all over lip colour. So when the famous No7 £5 off voucher was handed to me I knew I had try a new lip liner. This colour is natural, almost a 'your lips but better' colour, it soft and is retractable so no sharpeners needed. A must try!

Thalgo Cellu-Thighs Gel:
To put it straight, this product is rubbish. It claims to reduce celluite in just 14 days but its a load of bollocks (pardon my French. It retails around the £40+ mark but I beg you ladies not to buy it. Lucky for me I only bought a sample! It does have a really nice aloe vera type scent but it didn't even give you that tingling sensation to even seem like it was doing anything!

Neal's Yard Rehydrating Rose Daily Moisture:
A magazine freebie worth trying but not for me. The rose scent is beautiful and lingers throughout the day however this face cream is too moisturising and left an oily film on my face which made my make-up slip. It does however have a light consistency so a good product if you have extremely dry skin and don't like thick creams.

If you've tried any of these products let me know what you thought of them and as always if you've done a empties post of video please link it in the comments below so I can have a look. x
