L'Oreal Mega Volume Collagene

Being the Mascara 'whore' I am, I decided to give L'Oreal's latest mascara release a try, the 'Mega Volume Collagene 24hr'. I admit I only bought this mascara as it was on offer, as most products are when they first hit the shelves however after being so impressed with the packaging of the Lumi Magique foundation, I was very disappointed with the appearance of this mascara! Packaging isn't the most important factor when choosing a product , but this mascara looks cheap, and tacky and nothing compared to L'Oreal standards.
Initially the formulation is very wet, which I personally don’t like much as I find these types of mascaras to be messy however with time the formulation begins to become dryer and you can work with it more. That being said when the formulation adapts to a dryer state; it’s at a point of no return.
Without Mascara
The brush is thick, tapered and dips slightly in the middle, which allows you to get right under the roots of the lashes to give you some super impressive volume. It also lengthens the lashes and almost gives you that 'false lash' effect. My only gripe with this product is that after two coats your lashes can begin to look spidery which I’ve grown out of, so if you too
don’t like this look this may not be the mascara for you!
With Mascara
Generally I tend NOT to buy high-end mascaras because if you have to replace them every ‘three months’ then it can get very expensive. L’Oreal is on the higher price point of ‘drugstore’ make-up however I wouldn’t pay the £10.99 for this mascara again. Although this mascara delivered on creating volume and length there’s nothing that special about it and I have certainly used better mascaras that are cheaper.

Has anyone else tried this mascara? If so what did you think? x

    1. Aww thank you. My eyes always seem to photograph well (camera lies...lol) but this mascara is not a WOW product if you get my drift. Volume Million lashes is next on my list but i've got a couple of mascaras in my draw to use up x

  2. Oh no! I had Volume Million and may have accidentally left it open, so replaced it with this the other day - wish I'd waited or looked for reviews!! Least I've got some Clinique mini mascaras hanging about for emergencies!!

  3. Your lashes look great. I'm yet to find a decent mascara for my stubby lashes so I layer 2/3 to get some body and length, so may have to try this one. It really lengthened your lashes!
