Cracks in the Foundation

There's no such thing as perfect ... I know this !!! BUT I just want to find a foundation that I'm completely happy with because I absolutely hate shopping for foundations ... its probably the only make-up item I hate shopping for and probably one of the only make-up items I DON't collect tons of (as opposed to lipsticks, blushes liners ,e.t.c).

For around a year I was using Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light Foundation, and despite having lots of positive things to say about it I just found the formulation too heavy for my skin... so when I heard Estee Lauder were launching a new foundation, the 'Fluid Make-Up' I knew I had to try it.

It has had comparisons with Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua (the shade range however for this foundation is not great !) and aims to give you that 'no make-up look' with its very light, airy and 'invisible' formulation. Having now tried it I'm glad I only got a sample and didn't rush to get the full size version because I'm not a hundred percent sure how I feel about it...
In the mean time I'm in between using my Bourjois's Healthy Mix Serum and L'Oreal's Lumi Magique as Khila aka Miss Budget Beauty has mentioned that it has similarities to the Nars Sheer Glow. I've always wanted to try the Sheer Glow but have always been put off by the price AND because Nars don't give samples out I didn't want to risk wasting my money on something I may potential end up hating! Miss BB also has said if you like the Lumi Magique you may possibly like the Sheer Glow so I will see if L'Oreal's new foundation has some 'magique' to offer.
Like I said I hate collecting foundations so the most I ever have in my collection is two. I do need your help though, I need you girls to make some suggestions. Tell me what your favourite foundation is, and tell me what you recommend and I will head out and get samples because I want to find the ultimate foundation!

I want something that is light but gives good coverage yet it still feels like I'm not wearing make-up. Looking forward to hearing your suggestions girls ... x

  1. Im very drug store when it comes to foundations, like you I begrudge paying a lot for a foundation when I haven't had the change to sample it first. I do think you should be able to go into anywhere selling foundations and go away with enough for one face at least.
I took a gamble on Bourjois 123 Perfect recently having read mixed reviews and was pleasantly, surprised its been my go since.
Hope you find a foundation you really like soon!

    1. I do like Bourjois Healthy Mix, but I also want a high end foundation to use on special occasion's. I don't mind paying money for a foundation but I like to give it a good go first with a sample x

  2. Hi hun, what skin type are you?
I have slightly dry skin and i currently use the Bourjois healthy mix foundation and use the Nars sheerglow on days when i need more coverage. They both give a 'dewy' finish and dont feel too heavy on the skin.

I have also tried Revlon Photoready foundation, which did give me great coverage but it was a bit drying... So it really depends on what skin type you are xxx

    1. I have an oily t-zone and dry cheeks, I'm going to see how I feel about L'Oreal's Lumi Magique because it is being compared to Nars Sheer glow, so if I like it I will go ahead and buy the Nars Sheer glow x

  3. Hey! I have oily/combination skin (more oily than anything) and I completely 100% swear by Revlon Colourstay foundation. They do range for dry, normal and combination/oily and I use the latter. I don't like thick foundation and this is really light on the face, lasts all day doesn't look like you are wearing it but gives you great coverage! No it isn't the most marketed, or blogged about but thats what makes it great - its my little secret! Only downside is there is no pump so its a pour on your hand job. But on the plus side you don't need to use a lot!!
